Purpose
ECO-CLUB aims to heighten awareness about the world's environment. While deepening peoples' mutual understanding, ECO-CLUB fosters to think about the earth's environment and take it upon themselves to work toward building a new society. ECO-CLUB achieves this goal through camp programs and other activities that bring diverse people together in various regions and natural settings.
* Theme
ECO-CLUB's three main themes are, "People," "Nature" and "Culture". There are no restrictions to any activities based on sex, nationality, or physical ability.

MPhil, Environment and Development, University of Cambridge MA, Political Science, Waseda University
Since college TAKANO has been involved in many outdoor activities in the world.
These include :
- Oceanic survey in Australia as service work
- 1500 km canoe trip down the Amazon River
- Survival race in Madagascar
- Traverse the Arctic Ocean by dogsled and canoe sled via North Pole
- 1800 km journey by dogsled in far eastern Siberia with Chukchi people
Once finishing as a reporter for The Japan Times, Takako established ECO-CLUB in 1992 and World School Japan in 1994. Currently she is in a PhD course of outdoor and environmental education at University of Edinburgh in UK.
